The following applications for licenses have been filed with the undersigned as Clerk for the Town of Crescent, Oneida County, Wisconsin

Said applications will be considered by the Town Board at the Monthly Town Board Meeting to be held at the Crescent Town Hall on the 8th day of May, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. and at any subsequent or adjourned meetings until said application have been fully disposed of by the Town Board.

Chipper Service and Leaf Disposal
CHIPPER SERVICE will be available to any property owner in the Town of Crescent, free of charge, beginning on June 3rd. There is a limit of 30 minutes per property and all brush must be pointed in one direction at the edge of your property near the town road. Brush must be in position by Monday, June 3rd in order to be chipped by the Crescent Road Crew. There is no need to be placed on a schedule this year, all brush in position by June 3rd will be chipped. IF you live on a County Highway or State Highway in the Town of Crescent please email crescentroadcrew@gmail.com with your address to ensure that your brush is chipped.

LEAF DISPOSAL is available at the old Crescent Dump, 3113 S. River Rd. There will be signs indicating where to place leaves and grass clippings. DO NOT leave boxes or plastic bags at the dump site.


By the end of the day on April 24th all culverts will have been replaced and Road pulverizing will begin with one lane during construction hours.

The Crescent Town Board is proud to announce the South River Road construction schedule to begin on April 22nd with anticipated completion in Mid-May.
  • The Town will post construction activity on a daily basis via the Town of Crescent Website: Go to townofcrescent.com.
  • To avoid road closures during the week of April 22nd, please take either the alternate route to Hat Rapids Road and Highway 17 or to US Highway 8 as the culvert replacement moves south on South River Road.
  • Oneida County EMS will be notified of culvert replacement road closures during the week of April 22nd and alternate routes.
  • To avoid single lane traffic control, please take the alternate route to Hat Rapids Road and Highway 17. (NOTE: From time to time there will be single lane from the intersection of South River Road and Fire Tower Road to Hat Rapids Road during pulverizing and paving of the section.)
  • South River Road lanes will be open to traffic before and after daily construction hours.

April 22- 26: Moving Road Closures to replace seven culverts with replacement to begin on north end of S River Road and US Highway 8 intersection.
  • Culverts #1, #2, #3: Moving Closure between 3266 River Road and Sports Club Road.
  • Culvert #4: Closure between Sports Club Road and Woodwind Way
  • Culvert # 5: Closure between Woodwind Way and 3015 S River Road
  • Culvert # 6: Closure between 3015 S River Road and 2920 S River Road
  • Culvert #7: Closure between 2540 S River Road and 2510 S River Road

April 29 – May 6: Road Pulverizing (NOTE: Traffic Control with one lane open during construction hours and both lanes open after construction hours.)

May 7 -10: Lane Paving (NOTE: Traffic Control with one lane open during construction hours and both lanes open after construction hours.)

May 13- 17: Shoulder Placement and Shaping (NOTE: Traffic Control with one lane open during construction hours and both lanes open after construction hours.)

NOTICE OF THE BOARD OF REVIEW and OPEN BOOK
TOWN OF CRESCENT, ONEIDA COUNTY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Wis. Stats., 70.45 the Open Book of the Assessment Roll for the Town of Crescent, of Oneida County, will be held on Friday, May 3rd, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Town of Crescent Town Hall located at 3231 Golf Course Road, Rhinelander, Oneida County, Wisconsin. This is an opportunity for the taxpayers to examine and discuss their assessments with the Town Assessor. Instructional material about the assessment, how to file an objection, and board of review procedures under Wisconsin law will be available at that time.

The town board of the Town of Crescent, by this ordinance, adopted on proper notice with a quorum and roll call vote by a majority of the town board present and voting, provides the authority for the Town of Crescent to adopt its comprehensive plan under s. 66.1001 (4), Wis. stats., and provides the authority for the town board to order its publication. Highway Maintenance Worker

The Town of Crescent is accepting applications for an on-call part-time backup Highway Snowplow Driver. Starting hourly rate of $22.00 to $28.00 based upon experience with no additional benefits offered. This is a seasonal on-call position with no guaranteed hours.

Qualified applicant must have a high-school diploma, Valid Wisconsin Driver’s license with Class B, C, D and Air Brake Endorsement; knowledge of snowplowing; good far, near, and night vision, good hearing and perception of sound; ability to work under extreme cold, and wet conditions; ability to work independently; ability to respond to residents’ concerns in a respectful appropriate manner.
